Dawn Simons, CPA is a Managing Director at Spoor Bunch Franz overseeing the Financial Reporting department of the Firm. Dawn joined the Firm in 1977. She took a hiatus in 1982 to raise three children and returned to the Firm in 1995. Although auditing has been her primary focus, Dawn’s experience has been very diversified, including preparation of individual, corporate and employee benefit plan tax returns. Currently, her responsibilities include managing approximately 60 USDA-Rural Development low-income housing audits, several employee benefit plan audits, and review engagements for auto dealerships. Although Dawn has audit experience in numerous industries, including nonprofit and government, she has specialized in low-income housing and employee benefit plans.
Dawn is a graduate of Florida State University, and earned her C.P.A. certificate in 1979. During college and before joining the Firm, she was employed in the banking industry. She is a member of the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Dawn is the designated partner for the Firm’s membership in the Government Audit Quality Center of the AICPA.
Dawn lives in Clearwater and enjoys spending time with her children and three grandchildren, as well as walking and reading.
